To mark Armistice Day we've put together a stunning gallery featuring images of poppies by our camera club members.
They were taken earlier this year when the bright red blooms could be seen in fields all over Wiltshire, echoing what is thought to be the inspiration for poet John McCrae, who wrote In Flanders Fields after the death of a friend.
Maj McCrae, serving in the 1st Brigade Canadian Field Artillery read the service at Lt Alexis Helmer's graveside in May 1915 where the flowers were already blooming.
The military doctor eventually lost his own life in January 1918 to pneumonia and meningitis.
If you're a keen amateur photographer and would like the chance to see your images published in the Advertiser, the Gazette and Herald and the Wiltshire Times as well as on our websites why not join our Swindon and Wiltshire Camera Club on Facebook.
