South Marston has a population of more than 800. Archaeological finds in the area date back to the Bronze Age

The Roman town of Durocornovium was at nearby Covingham and was a military camp which later became a merchant town.

South Marston was probably a Romano-British farming settlement and Roman items, such as pottery and coins, have been found in the area.

South Marston has a long and rich history - the church records date back to 1539. To find out more, visit http://southmarston.org.uk.
