THERE'S one bad thing about going to comedy gigs - and that's hecklers.
And they were out in force at the Jongleurs comedy night, at the Wyvern, on the first night of the Swindon Festival of Comedy.
A stag do and a group of friends near the front were the main culprits but comedians Angie McAvoy, Phil Butler and Brian Higgins soon put them in their place.
Like any cocky individual, as soon as they were challenged, they fell silent. Much to the delight (and raputous applause) from the rest of the audience.
From girls with bad reputations to children's toys that can say rude words a wide spectrum of topics were discussed.
The star turn of the night came from Kev Orkian, who came all the way from Armenia.
He had the audience is stitches with his tales of hairy ex-girlfriends in his native country, his entrance into the UK on the top of a Eurostar and his attempts to chat up women in the audience.
But the crowning glory of his slot was his rendition of Elton John's, I'm Still Standing which he learnt from a scratched CD. The result was comic gold.
The standing ovation he received was well deserved and I for one will be googling him to find out where I can catch him next.
