ADY Williams has completed his first signing as caretaker manager of Swindon Town.
Preston goalkeeper Andy Lonergan agreed a month-long loan deal at the County Ground this afternoon.
Williams was keen to bring in keeper Lonergan, who goes straight into the squad for Saturday's match with Hereford, as first-choice keeper Peter Brezovan is out for the season with a broken arm.
Lonergan, 23, has recovered from a knee injury which kept him out of much of last season but is yet to start a senior game this season.
Lonergan said: "I am really pleased to be here and want to get some games under my belt now. I have been playing reserve team football so far this season and need to step up into the first team.
"Ady Williams rang my manager on Wednesday last week and things have moved on from there. I want to take my chance and do well for Swindon during my time here."
Preston boss Paul Simpson told his club's website: "He needs first-team football to get his sharpness up."
Lonergan's arrival is likely to see Phil Smith, who had been deputising for Brezovan, relegated back to the bench in Williams' second match in charge at the County Ground.
