THE new Morrisons store at Regent Circus opened its doors for the first time today.
Despite the rain, shoppers were queuing to get in, eager to see what the supermarket had to offer.
The opening represents the completion of the first part of the Regent Circus Development, which will eventually see a cinema and several restaurants come to the area.
Store General Manager Richard McCann said: “Our new store is right in the heart of Swindon’s town centre, meaning our customers won’t have to stop anywhere else on the way home.
“We wanted to create an experience that was different from other supermarkets, offering customers a fantastic range of fresh products at great value and excellent customer service. The team have worked hard to train as specialists in areas such as wine, butchery and bakery and the fresh market concept means that many products are created by these specialists in-store each morning.”
