EMERGENCY services descended upon Wroughton in the early hours of this morning as they responded to reports a man had been found dead in the village.
Wiltshire Police has now confirmed a 64-year-old man was found in Ashen Copse, a wooded area off Wharf Road near the Maunsell Way junction, at 4.56am.
Detectives are not treating the death as suspicious, although a cause has yet to be established.
The man's family are being informed by police officers this afternoon.
A spokeswoman for Wiltshire Police said: "A 64-year-old man from Wroughton was found dead in Ashen Copse, Wroughton, early this morning by police.
"There appear to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man’s death at this stage, but his cause of death is yet to be confirmed.
"Officers are in the process of informing all of his next of kin."
