A PUPPY training school held a Sports Relief themed fundraiser this week.
Perfect pooches from Janet’s Puppy Skool based in Haydon Wick, pounded the pavements for a one –mile walk in aid of the charity.
A collection of Labradors, pugs, spaniels, poodles, bulldogs, and retrievers-accompanied by their owners, walked in and around North Swindon before ending at the Manor Pub.
Puppy Skool founder Janet Garrett said the day was enjoyed by all.
“We had 22 dogs and about 40 owners with us. The dogs get to see each other in classes but were very excited to be seeing each other and the owners really enjoyed chatting to each other and finding out more about their classmates.
“It had a really great atmosphere, it brought a smile to people’s faces when they saw all the dogs out on the street with us. We had a really positive response to the walk.
And Janet said she was delighted with the fundraising efforts of the dog and owners.
“We tried to ask people for a minimum of £5 donation and in the end we raised £225 for the charity which is amazing. We’re so grateful to everyone that donated,” she said.
“I really enjoy my job and to see how well socialised and well-behaved the dogs were together made me very proud.
Janet’s Puppy Skool sees more than 100 dogs every week and has classes from puppy playschool to advanced training.
