A MOTORCYCLIST has been seriously injured following a crash on the A361 north on Highworth.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance medics rushed to the scene near the village of Inglesham in a rapid response vehicle, supported by the Great Western Air Ambulance helicopter.
The A361 is closed in both directions from Cricklade Road in Highworth to the High Street in Lechlade.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a motorcycle at 3.49pm.
"The motorcyclist has sustained a leg injury and a possible head injury.
"The air ambulance was called and arrived at 5.12pm.
"The road has been closed in both directions."
Oil has been spilled on the road as a result of the crash so delays are likely to continue even after the casualty has been recovered.
Correction: A previous version of this article said that the Wiltshire Air Ambulance helicopter had attended the incident. It has now been amended to reflect that their medics attended by land with the air asset provided by Great Western Air Ambulance.
