A 19-YEAR-OLD Swindon man and one other man charged in connection with an alleged armed robbery in Oaksey, near Malmesbury yesterday have been remanded in custody by magistrates to appear at Swindon Crown Court next month.

Kieran Wheeler, 19, of Magnolia Court, Swindon, and Zakhery Bradbury, 20, of no fixed abode were arrested by officers yesterday following the incident at 7.30am.

Bradbury was charged with possession of a class B drug, possession of an imitation firearm, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and robbery.

Wheeler was charged with possession of an imitation firearm, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, and robbery.

When both men appeared before North Wiltshire Magistrates' Court in Chippenham today, they did not enter a plea and did not apply for bail, speaking just to confirm their name, age and address.

The pair, along with three other defendants who have been released by police on bail pending further enquiries, were arrested in Calne after the alleged robbery.

Prosecuting Michelle Hewitt put forward an application to remand the pair in custody and magistrates agreed.

They are now due to appear at Swindon Crown Court on June 17.
