A MAN has died after suffering a heart attack in Old Town last night.
Police were called by paramedics to a “medical emergency” on Cannon Street, off Victoria Road, at around 6.20pm on Thursday evening.
It is now understood that a 58-year-old man suffered a heart attack. He was taken to Great Western Hospital by ambulance, but later died.
The man is not thought to have lived in Cannon Street.
A spokeswoman for Wiltshire Police said: “The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will now be prepared on behalf of H M Coroner for Wiltshire.”
Last night four police cars, a two-man ambulance and a fast response paramedic 4x4 were seen on Victoria Road last night.
Officers from Wiltshire Police appeared to be conducting door-to-door enquiries.
