POLICE cordoned off the Esso garage in Fleming Way this morning.
Officers were called just before 10.30am to reports of a serious assault near the Magic Roundabout and since then, the garage has remained taped off to customers.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “We were called at approximately 10.25am today to a serious assault near the Esso garage in Fleming Way.
“One man has been assaulted and sustained a head and back injury.
“A cordon is currently in place at the scene and officers are carrying out enquiries.
“We’d encourage anyone who witnessed the incident, which is believed to have taken place on the garage forecourt, to call 101 immediately.”
It is understood traffic is now moving past the garage.
