A PEDESTRIAN hit by a car on Queen’s Drive is today recovering in hospital – after a lucky escape.
The 64-year-old Swindon man was struck by what is believed to have been a BMW on the town centre-bound direction of the road, near Coate Water Country Park.
Paramedics took the man to Great Western Hospital by ambulance.
Police closed the road for two hours to allow investigators to do their work.
Today, police said that the man was recovering in hospital with non-life threatening or life-changing injuries.
It is not believed that charges will be brought against the driver of the car.
Yesterday, Tri-Force traffic police asked anyone with information about the crash to contact PC Rosier on 101 or anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
