A WEST Swindon cinema has been forced to close - after problems with its plumbing.
The Cineworld Shaw Ridge cinema is understood to have opened briefly at 9.30am this morning, but closed 10 minutes later.
In a statement posted on the cinema’s Facebook page, cinema staff said: “We are currently closed while we resolve an issue with our plumbing. We apologise for any inconvenience and hope to reopen the cinema as soon as possible.”
Notices posted on the doors to the cinema said merely that the cinema would be “closed until further notice”. It is not yet known when the cinema will reopen.
Aidan Williams, 35, of Peatmoor, had hoped to watch new blockbuster Peter Rabbit with his young son. He said: “We’ll just have to go to the town centre Cineworld. It’s no problem.”
Those who have purchased tickets for showings at the Shaw Ridge cinema today are able to claim a full refund by calling the cinema hotline on 0333 003 3444.
