A CYCLIST died in a medical incident in Cricklade Road last night.
The road was closed by emergency services as police and ambulance services raced to the scene to provide medical assistance to the man in his 50s.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: "Shortly after 8.15pm last night we were called to a medical incident on Cricklade Road, Swindon, which involved a cyclist.
"The road was temporarily closed while we attended along with the ambulance service, but sadly, the man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene.
"His next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time."
South Western Ambulance Service confirmed an incident had taken place.
It said: “South Western Ambulance Service attended a serious incident on Cricklade Road, Swindon following a call on Tuesday, July 20 at 8.18pm.”
