The M4 exit slip road at junction 15 will remain closed overnight after a coach burst into flames and caused serious damage to the road surface.
Multiple fire crews have been battling the flames since just before 3pm and the slip road for Swindon East has been blocked ever since.
National Highways announced that the westbound slip road will need to undergo emergency surface repairs following the "extensive damage" caused by the blaze.
There are no reported injuries.
Traffic is queueing between junctions 14 and 15 as well as on Marlborough Road due to the ongoing disruption.
A shocking photo released by National Highways shows how the flames have ripped through the National Express coach, leaving it destroyed. The coach is still engulfed in smoke.
Police attended the scene to help with traffic control.
