A van has gone up in flames near a major Swindon shopping centre, with fire crews racing to the scene.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue tweeted crews were responding to the blaze at 12.20pm near the McDonald's at the Orbital Shopping Park and were on scene for an hour as they battled the "well alight" vehicle.
They have since provided an update to the Adver confirming that the fire has now been extinguished.
"We were called at 12.20pm today to the car park of a restaurant on North District Swindon Centre, Abbey Meads, Swindon following reports of a vehicle fire. On arrival, one crew from Stratton found a van well alight.
"Two breathing apparatus wearers used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
"The stop message came through at 12:46pm and the crew left scene at 1.31pm."
Witnesses initially reported on social media that they could see smoke rising into the sky from near McDonalds,
A video that was later posted onto the Swindon Community Notice Board Facebook page by member of the public Sophie Watson showed a DPD delivery van up in flames near the Orbital.
