A body has been found in the search for missing Swindon woman Danielle Geraghty, police have confirmed.
The 30-year-old woman from Walcot was last seen at 2am on Wednesday with police reporting on Thursday morning that they were “extremely concerned” about her welfare.
Now officers have confirmed on Thursday afternoon that a body has been found in the search for the missing woman.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “We can confirm that a body has been found in our search for Danielle Geraghty, who was reported missing earlier today from Walcot.
“While formal identification has not yet taken place, Danielle’s family have been updated of the latest development and our thoughts are with them at this incredibly difficult time.
“We would ask that you respect their privacy.
“Our investigations are ongoing into the circumstances.”
Officers were seen searching the Lennox Drive area of Swindon on Thursday morning with a heavy police presence in the Walcot area.
One resident told the Adver that a body had been found there, but this remains unconfirmed by the force.
