Residents have been left scared and in the dark after a missing woman was found dead in a Swindon suburb.
Police descended on Lennox Drive in Walcot on Thursday before later announcing that they had discovered a body.
Officers had been searching for missing Swindon woman Danielle Geraghty, from Walcot, who was last seen at 2am on Wednesday.
The 30-year-old’s disappearance had left police saying that they were “extremely concerned” about her welfare.
Residents around Lennox Drive have revealed how they have been left in the dark over what has happened and how the situation is scary while anonymously speaking to the Adver.
A woman in her 30s, who lives around the corner from where police were, said: "We saw all the police out here this morning around near that shed and we all wondered what was going on.
“People around here are saying that they found a body.
“The police must have only left just before 2pm and I don't know how long they were there for but it felt like a while. No one really knows what's for sure what's going on."
Another woman in her 20s added: "We were watching them all turn up from the window down the street.
“It's a bit scary really if what everyone's saying is true and there was a dead body in there."
