Members of the public have been left bemused as aliens have taken over the town centre Premier Inn.

For the last few days, there has been unusual 'out-of-this-world' activity spotted at the temporarily closed hotel.

And now Graeme Leighfield has sent in more photos of some of the unusual figures that appear to be visiting the hotel for what is believed to be the filming of a new advert for the company.

Despite speculation that this was to film an advert, staff told the Advertiser that the closure was was for 'training'.

But during the site's temporary closure members of the public have spotted filming equipment and people in some very interesting alien costumes which would suggest that an advert was being filmed after all.

The £17 million hotel first opened in October last year after 19 months of construction work and is a flagship UK first all-electric hotel for Whitbread, the owners of Premier Inn.

The hotel was due to reopen at 3pm on Friday, April 19, when the temporary closure is due to come to an end.
