More forty crafters showcased their skills and creativity last weekend in one of the town’s biggest ever market events.

This was the first ever Makers’ Market to take place in the Brunel Shopping Centre, with stalls ranging from papercrafts, floral displays, hair braiding, home scents and crochet.

Stallholders called the day ‘fabulous’ and said it is ‘just what Swindon town centre needs.’

Charlotte Jarrett, asset manager at FI Real Estate Management, said: “The feedback from shoppers and stallholders alike has been fantastic - we were so pleased with the response, and footfall for that area of the centre was up by almost 100 per cent.

“It’s great to be able to host such events at The Brunel Swindon and showcase such talent and skill. We’re already taking stall bookings for the next one.”

The Makers' Market will be held on the second Saturday of every month and the next event will be on Saturday, May 11 from 9am to 3pm in the Brunel Plaza.
