A closed dessert store is set to get a new lease of life after a national company is set to reopen it - as another dessert store.

Mylo's Dessert, which served shakes, ice cream and puddings, had been a fixture in two locations in Swindon since coming to the town from Reading in 2021.

But both of its locations, one on Commercial Road in the town centre and the other on Cricklade Road near the Moonrakers pub, were permanently closed last year.

It has already been confirmed that Aqua-G Hair and Beauty Salon, currently located in the Brunel Shopping Centre, will be moving to the former Mylo's on Commercial Road

Now a completed auction listing on property management firm Savills website shows that the Cricklade Road store will continue to service desserts to people in the area when it is reopened by a different company.

The listing shows that the building, which also includes three flats, was recently sold at auction for £365,000, says: "The property comprises a three-storey building arranged as a ground floor shop with three flats above on the first and second floors.

"The shop floor is occupied on a 10-year lease to a very well-known franchise 'The Little Dessert Shop' making this their 46th location in the UK.

"There are three fully tenanted newly refurbished flats above the shop expanding across two floors with a modern interior."

The Little Dessert Shop makes and sells handcrafted artisan waffles, crepes, coffee, cheesecakes, cookie dough and gelato.

It is not known at this time when the Little Dessert Shop will be opening at the venue but the Savills listing states: "Tenant due to complete fit-out imminently."

All of the Mylo's branding and store frontage has been removed from the unit, and there is a banner that says 'under new ownership'.

The windows have been covered in brown paper.

The Little Dessert Shop website lists all of its current stores and at the time of writing, there is no indication of a store in Swindon, with the nearest one in Trowbridge.

The Trowbridge store closed briefly in March last year for refurbishment, following a one star food hygiene rating by Wiltshire Council.

The Little Dessert Shop has been contacted for further comment.
