A HAIRDRESSER who is believed to have been living in Robbie Williams’ Wiltshire mansion was yesterday found dead in a Swindon wood.
The body of Aaron Vickers, 25, of Cassini Drive, Oakhurst, was discovered by a 16-year-old girl at 8am after he had told his partner he was going for a walk at about 1am on Monday.
Aaron, who also used to cut superstar Williams’ hair, was found dead in a pathway which cuts between Oakhurst Primary School and a children’s play area.
The teenager who found him said: “I was on my way to work at 8am and was running late so I went through the woods, it was just getting light.
“I started crying but was frozen. I called everyone I knew but no-one answered.
“Finally, I got through to my dad. He helped out. I have been a wreck all day – I can’t eat – its as though I am caught in a nightmare.”
Colleagues and friends paid tribute to the hairdresser, who was working at Knock-em-Dead hairdressers in the town centre.
Mick Green, from the shop in Morley Street, said all the staff were devastated and the salon would be closed today.
He said: “Aaron was a larger than life character who touched everyone he met. When we all found out everyone was devastated we closed the shop and went home.
“He was so popular, vibrant and super creative; this is such a waste. He had a big clientele and was always very busy. He had been working here since 19.”
According to a friend, Aaron, who was born and bred in Swindon, is said to have met Robbie in Los Angeles where he first cut his hair.
Aaron is understood to have moved into a cabin on Robbie’s property in Compton Bassett only months ago and is also believed to have moved back with his mother.
He is understood to have grown up in Pinehurst but also lived in a small cottage near Christchurch, Cricklade Street, Old Town.
Jane Jennings, owner of JJs Hair Group, said: “Aaron worked as a trainee and colourist for me.
“I’m so shocked to hear what happened and so sorry for his family and loved ones. He was a unique person, a real character, he had a striking image – his hair was always amazing.”
A Swindon police spokesman said: “It is not believed there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death but as enquiries are still ongoing it would not be appropriate to comment further.”
If you would like to leave a tribute to Aaron, please do so below, but please be respectful towards the feelings of his friends and family at this difficult time.
