AFTER pinning a cat to the ground, a man smeared poo into its fur.
Now North Swindon Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or spotted a man with hands covered in faeces, to get in touch after assaulting the pet.
A spokesman for North Swindon Police Neighbourhood Police Team said: “Last Saturday evening a lady living in Twineham Road, Redhouse, heard her cat yowling outside, and looked out to see a stranger pinning the animal down and rubbing faeces into its fur with his bare hands.
“The offender ran away when he saw the owner. He is described as being a white male in his late twenties, of average height and build with light brown hair and he wore a navy jumper.
“Another man who had been watching what happened also ran away with him. The cat suffered scrapes to the body in the attack and had to be checked by a vet.
“The man who did this is likely to have returned home with excrement all over his hands and possibly his clothes.
"Anyone who may be able to help us identify the offender is asked to call PCSO John 6321 on 101.”
