DIY enthusiasts in Swindon are being urged to take extra care over the Bank Holiday.
Wiltshire Fire and Rescue says if more care is taken accidents and fires can be avoided.
Every Bank Holiday firefighters are called out to homes where bungling DIY enthusiasts have accidents or in some cases spark fires.
Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service community safety advisor Melanie Jezzard said: "Home makeovers are popular and, by following simple safety rules, accidents, fires and tragedies can be kept to a minimum."
