DANY N’Guessan could go out on loan this week after manager Mark Cooper confirmed that the striker has been made available for transfer by Swindon Town.
The Advertiser revealed on Friday that N’Guessan, who has scored eight goals in 23 appearances for the Robins this term since arriving from Millwall in the summer, has been offered to clubs across the Football League following the signings of George Barker and Michael Smith in recent weeks.
Town’s League One rivals Preston are believed to the interested in the forward.
Cooper stressed that there had been no falling out with N’Guessan, as he suggested that the frontman needs to “put himself in the shop window”, with his current contract due to expire at the end of the campaign.
“We sent out a circular last week saying that we had numerous people available for transfer or loan,” Cooper said.
“We’ve had a few enquiries for Dany and I chose not to put him on the bench today. He can only go on loan because he’s already played for two clubs in the season and you’re only allowed to play for two, or three if it’s an emergency loan.
“He’s out of contract in the summer. He started really well, faded a little bit and he needs to go and play and maybe put himself in the shop window.
“It can happen, it’s one of those things. There was no falling out, Dany was good as gold about it and we’ll see what happens next week.”
When asked whether N’Guessan could leave the club by the time Town travel to the Midlands to face Walsall tomorrow night, Cooper said: “There’s also a chance he may come back into the reckoning with us, that’s football.”
Meanwhile, the Advertiser understands Town could still make a loan move for Liverpool striker Michael Ngoo despite the January signings of Smith and Barker.
