BROOME Manor Golf Club is starting their Swindon Schools Get Into Golf Programme for local schools.
The club have a sign-up of 16 schools taking part in the programme, each receiving a coaching day from SP Golf Academy coaches.
Two players from each year will be chosen to take part in the grand final, held at Broome Manor Golf Complex on Wednesday, March 23.
Broome’s PGA golf professional Lee Hayward said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for pupils of the Swindon schools taking part in the programme.
“They will all get the chance to try golf in their school and qualify to play in the grand final, which will be a very exciting day full of skills, games and fun.
“I am very chuffed with the response we got from the schools and we are full with 16 schools taking part in the programme.
“I believe grass roots coaching in schools is an important step in growing any sport, especially golf, and who knows we may find the next David Howell or Rory McIlroy.”
