Highworth Town back to winning ways in Hellenic League Premier Division as Royal Wootton Bassett Town also clinch victory

The Worthians made it 14 wins from 15 league games as they romped away with the three points with four goals in the second half.

Aaron Ferris put the hosts in front on 51 minutes and three goals in the final 11 minutes safely wrapped up the points, Ash Edenborough notching from the penalty spot before Callum Parsons scored twice in the dying moments.

While hardly in freefall, home defeats to Sholing in the FA Vase and Wantage in the league had slowed the serene progress of Roberts' men, and the manager was pleased to see normal service resumed this weekend.

"Brimscombe have always been well-organised and it was like the (league cup) game on Wednesday against Wallingford (an 11-0 win),'' said Roberts.

"In the two games before that I just thought we had got too complacent. We got a bit lazy and weren't pressuring people, so it was about getting a bit of confidence back in the lads really.

"The quality is there but the hard work has to come with it.

"In the first half I thought we were going a little bit too direct and there wasn't enough room behind them to run in (to).

"We said we needed to shorten it up and drag their back four out a little bit and we came out second half all guns blazing really.

"Aaron got one after six minutes and you could see them (Brimscombe) drop off a little bit. In the second half we totally dominated it.''

Royal Wootton Bassett Town also claimed three points, Sam Collier's 88th-minute strike ensuring a 2-1 win over Longlevens, who had levelled through Shaun O'Connor five minutes previously following Mason Thompson's ninth-minute opener.

Fairford Town were beaten 3-1 at home by Wantage Town, despite Dan Bailey's strike.

In Division One West, goals from Max Slinn and Ryan Lovitt weren't enough to prevent New College from slipping to a 3-2 defeat at Headington Amateurs.

Shrivenham were soundly beaten 3-0 at Cheltenham Saracens.
