CALLUM Kennedy is back in training following a long-term pelvic injury.
The full-back has made 11 appearances this season in all competitions, including six starts, but his last outing was in the FA Cup victory over Woking back at the start of November.
Kennedy, 20, suffered a pelvic stress fracture before Christmas and has been sidelined since, but the left-sided player is now getting closer to a return.
“Callum is back in functional football training. He’s done very well and been very patient,” explained Town physio Dick Mackey.
“He had an awkward injury – a pelvic stress fracture, which is a fairly unusual injury for a footballer.
“But he’s shown a lot of patience and dedication and has been very good.”
Teenage midfielder Kurt Hammonds has also spent a lengthy spell on the County Ground treatment table.
The 19-year-old is yet to make a first team appearance for Swindon, having been dogged by injuries over the past two years, but following recent knee surgery physio Mackey is hopeful that Hammonds’ problems are behind him.
“Kurt has just had further surgery on his knee, and he does very well,” said Mackey.
“It’s a terrible time for a footballer when he can't do what he wants to do most.
“His recovery has been protracted, but he’s good now and back on that road to recovery.”
