SWINDON Town have rejected a bid from Bournemouth for winger Matt Ritchie.
The Cherries were being widely reported as having revived their interest in the youngster, who they made several bids for towards the end of last year.
Those bids were all rejected and Town have again rebuffed Bournemouth's approach, with the League One side understood to have lodged a substantial six-figure sum for the midfielder.
"“I have tried to remain consistent, not just in this window but throughout this season in that there was only one plan and that was to be promoted at the first attempt to League One," interim chairman Jeremy Wray told the Advertiser. “We have seen what happened when players have left in the past and we are determined not to dismantle the side at such a crucial stage of the season."
Wray also reiterated that no other key players will be leaving today.
“We absolutely will keep this squad together," he added.
"If we are to maintain this promotion push the whole squad becomes important." Meanwhile, Lee Cox has completed his move from Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
The 21-year-old midfielder has signed a two-and-a-half year deal for a fee of around £50,000.
