IT is of course very proper that all council tax payers contribute views on the council’s overall budget but as Shirley Burnham so rightly points out, there was an earlier consultation which was open to all opinions.
Is the council now simply seeking an opportunity to encourage opposing views in order to make further cuts to the service?
Forward Swindon might involve itself in inward investment – with all the negotiating experience it should have available – in libraries (surely an educational issue?) as well as children’s centres, infrastructure, wi-fi and all the remaining myriad future issues requiring urgent attention in this town.
