Archive photographs show the changing face of The Savoy in Swindon's town centre.
The Regent Street site has gone by a few names over the last few decades but has consistently remained a popular community hotspot.
In the early 20th century, it was known as The Savoy cinema
In the 1960s, EMI took over the multiplex for a while before ABC swapped out the signage in the '70s.
Its marquees advertised acclaimed new and exciting releases that are now beloved classics, such as Doctor Zhivago, The Outlaw Josie Wales, Octopussy, Monty Python's Meaning of Life, and The Beastmaster.
In the 21st century, Wetherspoons converted the film hub into a pub that brought back the retro name of the venue. So, instead, film fans flocked to the new Cineworld cinema that was built as part of the entertainment complex on the former site of the town's college at Regent Circus.
Punters continue to regularly pop into The Savoy for a pint while the other Wetherspoons pub The Sir Daniel Arms on the other side of the town centre in Fleet Street sees a similar level of trade.
