THE Bespoke Guardians Swindon Wildcats have re-signed teenage talent Josh Shaw from local rivals, Bristol Pitbulls.
Shaw played for Swindon in the 2021-22 campaign – helping the Cats to Autumn Trophy success against Leeds Knights – but will now return to the Link Centre as Aaron Nell’s men begin their rebuild.
The 17-year-old scored nine points in 51 games for the Pitbulls last year and was a part of the Great Britain U18 team who won bronze at the Division Two A World Championships earlier in 2023.
Shaw began his career with Swindon Leopards U15s before moving across to the Okanagan Hockey Academy for two years.
After helping to reunite Shaw with former Pitbulls man Reece Kelly in Swindon, head coach Nell said: “Josh was another player I targeted early in the off season.
“He’s one of the best U18 players in the country, and being a Swindon junior, I wanted to bring him back to the Wildcats. He also had a really good World Championships with GB.
“Hopefully, he can continue to grow this year and become a big player for us for the years ahead.
“I’m sure his speed will help generate offensive chances for him and his linemates, and I’m excited to get working with Josh again!”
