Swindon Town secured a first away from home on a Saturday this season with a top performance to secure a 2-0 win at Barrow.

Williams Kokolo curled in his first goal for the club before Paul Glatzel scored in a fourth successive game to give a two-goal lead before the break that proved to be enough for all three points.

So, how did the players fare as individuals as the SO Legal Stadium?

GK: Jack Bycroft – 7

I think that this display was without one particularly outstanding save from Bycroft, but he was always there as the last line of defence to clean up. It was very pleasing to see him bounce back from Monday.

RCB: Udoka Godwin-Malife – 7

This was a far more restrained performance from Godwin-Malife as we didn’t see so much of the galivanting down the right, but defensively he was excellent. Other than one run from Warren Feely when he was a bit weak, he got everything right.

CB: Conor McCarthy – 6

I don’t know what on earth that was when he let the ball run over his foot to give Dom Telford a huge chance to end his goal drought, but he just about recovered in time. Other than that he was very solid and commanding in the middle.

LCB: Frazer Blake-Tracy – 7

I would give the edge to Blake-Tracy over the other defenders in terms of his performance. He was consistently driving into the space he was afforded and starting good attacks. He was rock solid at the back after a few dodgy performances prior to his injury and it was good to see this defensive unit playing at a high level.

CDM: Nnamdi Ofoborh – 8

I honestly don’t know how he was able to play 90 minutes, but he was sensational. He provided the physicality that Swindon have not had in midfield at any point this season and kept the ball ticking. The three-man midfield was important for greater security and he thrived at the base.

RWB: Zac Elbouzedi – 5

Elbouzedi was also guilty of getting lost on the right once or twice, but he generally did everything you would hope as his transition into a wing-back continues. He created one good opportunity but was generally rather quiet.

CM: Jake Cain – 6

His energy in the middle was key and he was determined to win those battles. He also played a couple of very good balls to start attacks, as well as some lovely dead balls even after Ricky Aguiar had come on.

CM: George McEachran – 6

Much like Cain, there was suddenly a bit of desire in the middle of the park to win the battle and they did just that. If only they had been doing something like this in the previous 41 matches… now I am getting angry again and must refocus on Barrow to calm down. He knitted the game together very well and set up Kokolo for the opener.

LWB: Williams Kokolo – 8

I would say that I have probably been as critical of Kokolo as anyone, but there was not much to criticise at the SO Legal Stadium. On top of just scoring the goal, he was a constant danger, putting his pace to good use and being absolutely relentless. Aaron Drinan should have seen him come away with a goal and assist after he made a lung-busting run up the left before hulking someone in a tackle and putting it on a plate for the Irish Inzaghi.

ST: Paul Glatzel – 8

Another sensational performance from the face of the franchise. In every phase of the game, he was vital and is now getting the goals to get along with it. The Barrow press pack were convinced he must be on loan from somewhere with how good he is.

ST: Aaron Drinan – 6

Despite not taking some of his chances, he was still a big part of the performance. Glatzel and he have a fine link-up on the ball and are both dogged without the ball. They are making it quite tough to leave them out.

Substitutes:

Ricky Aguiar – 5

Aguiar kept up the work of McEachran when he came on, putting in the hard yards without the ball to frustrate Barrow as they searched for an equaliser.

Charlie Austin – 5

It was all about survival when Austin came on and he was able to finish the job, even if he didn’t do a great deal as an individual.

Tom Brewitt – N/A

Harry McKirdy – N/A
