Swindon Borough Council has published the 'Pre-submission Draft' of the Swindon Borough Local Plan. The Local Plan is a document that sets out a spatial framework for development within the Borough. Once adopted, the Swindon Borough Local Plan will form part of the Swindon Borough Local Development Framework.

Copies of the documents, the accompanying Sustainability Appraisal (SA) supporting technical studies and other relevant information used to inform the document are available for public inspection at Swindon Borough Council One-Stop Shop Reception Desk at Wat Tyler House, Beckhampton Street, Swindon free of charge (Monday to Friday 8.30am. to 6.00pm). The Pre-submission draft and Sustainability Appraisal may also be viewed at all libraries within Swindon Borough, during normal opening hours of those libraries, and can also be viewed on the Borough's website, where a representation form can also be downloaded, at www.swindon.gov.uk/localplan.

Representations should only be made to the legal compliance and 'soundness' of the Local Plan and whether the correct procedures have been taken in its preparation. Representations should specify in what respect(s) the document is considered to be unsound, and what change(s) would need to be made to make it sound.

Representations should be sent in writing to Planning Dept, Freepost SCE5251, Swindon Borough Council, Wat Tyler House West (5^th Floor), Beckhampton Street, Swindon SN1 2JH to arrive no later than 6.00pm on 21^st February 2013. You may also fax your response to arrive no later than the above time and date on 01793 466459, or by e-mail to forwardplanning@swindon.gov.uk no later than the above time and date, or via Swindon Borough Council's website, by downloading the representation form.

Following the consultation, the Council will submit the Local Plan to the Secretary of State for an independent examination by a Government Planning Inspector.
