Notice of Publication of Two Recent Government Announcements and Regard to The Swindon Borough Local Plan 2026

I am writing to inform you of two recent government announcements and invite you to make comments, if you should so wish, on their implications for the Swindon Borough Local Plan.

Firstly an Order to revoke the Regional Strategy for the South West was laid in Parliament on 24th April 2013.

The Order will come into force on 20th May 2013.

Secondly, the government has recently published its latest Household lnterim Projections 2011-2021. The details can be found at;  https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/household-interim-projections-2011-to-2021-in-england You may consider that this affects the content and soundness of the Local Plan. If so I invite you to make brief comments identifying how the projections may be relevant to the Local Plan and its supporting evidence.

Links to the above documents can also be found on the Swindon Borough Council’s website at http://www.swindon.gov.uk/localplan  where you will also find a copy of the Pre-submission draft of the Swindon Borough Local Plan 2026 and links to supporting evidence.

All documentation is also available to view online at Swindon Borough Council One-Stop Shop Reception Desk, Wat Tyler House, Beckhampton Street, Swindon (Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm) and can also be viewed online at all libraries within Swindon Borough, during normal opening hours of those libraries.

Any comments made should relate to the above two issues only.

Other matters cannot be considered as the consultation period for representations to the Swindon Borough Pre- submission Local Plan 2026 has closed.
