Under Section 138A and Schedule 5A of the Housing Act 1985 as Inserted by Section 183 of the Housing Act 2004
This Notice is given by Swindon Borough Council of Civic Offices, Euclid Street, Swindon SN1 2JH ('The Council')

RE: The intention of Swindon Borough Council to demolish dwelling-houses (being flats and maisonettes) at Sussex Square, Walcot, Swindon

The Council is required, by Schedule 5A of the Housing Act 1985, to publish the following information:

The Council intends to demolish the flats and maisonettes at Sussex Square: Numbers 15 , 16 , 17,18 , 19 , 20 , 21, 22 , 23 , 24, 25 , 26 , 27, 28 , 29 , 30 , 31, 32 , 33 , 34, 35 , 36 , 37,38 , 39, 40 , 41, 42 , 43 , 44, 45 , 46 , 47 Sussex Square ('the relevant premises')

The demolition of the relevant premises is necessary for the regeneration of Sussex Square and its environs and is an integral part of the regeneration scheme.

The Council intends to demolish the relevant premises by 31st December 2017 being not later than 5 years from the date notice is served on those tenants and being a reasonable period to carry out the proposed demolition.

The Council will be serving initial demolition notices upon the tenants of the relevant premises.

These notices will remain in force until 31st December 2017 unless revoked or otherwise terminated under or by virtue of paragraph 3 of Schedule 5A of the Housing Act 1985.

Whilst these Notices are in force, the Council will not be under an obligation to make such a grant as i s menti oned in section 138(1) of the Hous i ng Act 1985 i n respect of any claim to exercise the right to buy in respect of any of the flats.

There may be a right to compensation under section 138C of the Housing Act 1985 i n respect of certa i n expend i ture i ncurred i n relati on to any exi sti ng ri ght to buy claim.
