In accordance with Section 11 of the Accounts and Audit (England) Regulations 2011, notice is hereby given that the audit of the accounts and other financial documents of Swindon Borough Council for the year ended 31st March 2013, concluded by 30 September.

The Council's Auditors, Grant Thornton UK LLP, have issued an unqualified opinion of the accounts. The accounts and related reports are available via the Council's website: www.swindon.gov.uk or by contacting the Council at the address below.

Publication of Scheme of Councillors' Allowances for 2013/14

The Council has published a Scheme of Councillors' Allowances for 2013/14.

Basic Allowance

The Council agreed on 17 January 2013, after considering the recommendations of its Independent Remuneration Panel, that there would be no increase in the levels of Basic and Special Responsibility Allowances payable to Councillors in 2013/14. Allowances would remain as for the 2010/11 and 2011/12 Municipal Years. The Councillors' Basic Allowances remains at £7,710.

Special Responsibility Allowance

The Special Responsibility Allowance for the Chair of the Standards Committee was set at £4,253 (was £7,444).
The Special Responsibility Allowance for the independent members and parish council representatives on the Standards Committee and for the Independent Persons supporting the Standards Committee was set at £1,000 (was £1,062)
A new Special Responsibility Allowance was established for any Swindon Borough Council Councillor serving as Chair of the Joint Swindon and Wiltshire Police and Crime Panel (£4,929) or serving as its Vice Chair (£2,500).
