PUBLIC NOTICE
SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTIONS AND PARKING PLACES CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2014) EXPERIMENTAL ORDER (NO.1) 2014
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 26 March 2014 Swindon Borough Council made an Experimental Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to be operative from the 7 April 2014 for the duration of 18 months.
The effect of the Order is to impose a variation to the existing residents parking and waiting restrictions on the Streets listed below located in Resident Parking Zone J which will include the following restrictions:
Residents Parking Zone (Monday to Saturday 8am to 10pm) to be managed by gate way signs indicating parking for Zone J parking permit holders only within the zone.
Limited Waiting Bays allowing parking for 30 minutes and 1 hour (Monday to Saturday) 'No Waiting At Any Time' restriction which will include to some of the alley way of the listed streets.
Restricted Parking Zone on Salisbury Street and Gladstone Street where parking will not be permitted at any time except within signed bays.

Ponting Street
Armstrong Street
Gladstone Street
Rosebery Street
Aylesbury Street

Station Road
Broad Street
Haydon Street
Volta Road
A copy of the Order and plan showing the extent of each restriction on each of the above streets may be inspected at the One Stop Shop, Wat Tyler House, Euclid Street, Swindon during normal office hours or online on www.swindon.gov.uk/highwayregulation.
The Experimental Order has been made to allow for an assessment of the changes before a decision is taken to make it permanent.
Any person wishing to make representations whether to object or support the Orders before they are made permanent must do so in writing quoting the reference (TRO/Experimental/Zones J) specifying the grounds on which they are made within 6 months of the Experimental Orders coming into force or if the Order is subsequently varied or modified within 6 months of the variation or modification coming into force.
If you wish to question the validity of the Orders, or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirements of that Act or of any instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within 6 weeks from 26 March 2014 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
