TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (GENERAL PERMITTED DEVELOPMENT) ORDER 1995 (AS AMENDED) NOTICE PURSUANT TO ARTICLE 5 OF THE MAKING OF AN ARTICLE 4 DIRECTION

Swindon Borough Council made an Article 4 Direction on 16th January 2015, under Article 4 of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 1995, as amended.

The area affected by the Direction is the whole of the Bishopstone Conservation Area which is identified on the plan attached to the Direction.

The development to be controlled by the Article 4 Direction comprises the installation, alteration or replacement of solar PV or solar thermal equipment on (a) a dwellinghouse; or (b) a building situated within the curtilage of a dwellinghouse, being development comprised within Class A of Schedule 2 to the said Order and not being development comprised within any other Class.

The effect of the Direction is to remove permitted development rights for this type of development from the date when the Direction comes into force. Planning permission will therefore be required for this type of development from the date the Article 4 Direction is in force.

It is proposed that this Direction shall come into force on 20^th March 2015 but will lapse if not confirmed by the Council within 6 months.

Full details of this Direction, together with the Plans and a copy of the Direction as made may be inspected from Monday to Friday during normal office hours at Swindon Borough Council Civic Offices, Euclid Street, Swindon, SN1 2JH.
