THE TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (LOCAL PLANNING) (ENGLAND) REGULATIONS 2012

Notice is hereby given in accordance with Regulations 26 and 35 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012, that the Swindon Borough Local Plan 2026 Development Plan Document ('the Plan') was formally adopted by Swindon Borough Council on 26th March 2015.

The Plan provides an overarching planning policy framework to deliver sustainable growth up to 2026. Now adopted, the Plan is the statutory development plan and forms the basis for decisions on land use planning affecting Swindon Borough.

The Plan was the subject of an independent examination conducted by an Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State. The Inspector's Report was published in February 2015 and the recommended main modifications have been included in the adopted plan.

The Local Plan and its associated documents (including this Adoption Statement, Inspector's Report, Sustainability Appraisal (SA) Report and SA Adoption Statement, and Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA) are available for public inspection at the Swindon Borough Council One-Stop-Shop, Wat Tyler House, Beckhampton Street, Swindon, SN1 2JG (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm) and can be viewed at Libraries, Parish and Town Council offices located in the Borough during normal opening hours of those libraries and offices.

Any person aggrieved by the Plan may make an application to the High Court under Section 113 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 on the grounds that the document is not within the appropriate powers or that a procedural requirement has not been complied with. Any application must be made no later than 6 weeks after the date of adoption by the Council (26th March 2015).
