BOROUGH OF SWINDON CONFIRMATION OF BYELAWS

Notice is hereby given that the Borough Council of SWINDON intends after the expiry of the period mentioned below to apply to the Secretary of State for confirmation of byelaws made by the Council in respect of acupuncture, tattooing, semi-permanent skin-colouring, cosmetic piercing and electrolysis for the purposes of securing the cleanliness of premises registered under sections 14(2) or 15(2) or both of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982 and fittings in such premises and of persons registered under sections 14(1) or 15(1) or both of the Act and persons assisting them and of securing the cleansing and, so far as appropriate, sterilization of instruments, materials and equipment used in connection with the practice of acupuncture or the business of tattooing, semi-permanent skin-colouring, cosmetic piercing or electrolysis, or any two or more of such practice and businesses.

Copies of the byelaws will be kept with the Licensing Manager at the offices of the council at Wat Tyler House, Beckhampton Street, Swindon SN1 2JH and will be open to inspection without payment on any weekday during the usual office hours 9am - 5pm for one calendar month from and after the date of the first publication of this notice. Copies of the byelaws will also be supplied on receipt of an application accompanied by a fee of £3.60 for each copy.

Any objection to the application for the confirmation of the byelaws may be made by letter addressed to Department for Communities and Local Government, Byelaws Team, 2 NE Fry Building, 2 Marsham Street, London, SW1P 4DF or email byelaws@communities.gsi.gov.uk (no later than 1 week after the closing date for inspection) before the byelaws are confirmed.
