SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL - PROPOSED DIRECTION UNDER REGULATION 7 TO CONTROL THE DISPLAY OF ADVERTISEMENTS ON TELEPHONE KIOSKS

OF ADVERTISEMENTS ON TELEPHONE KIOSKS

Notice is hereby given that Swindon Borough Council ("the Council") on 21st July 2015 made representations to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government requesting that he makes a Direction under Regulation 7 of the Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) (England) Regulations 2007 ("the 2007 Regulations") to control the display of advertisements on telephone kiosks in Swindon Town Centre. The effect of the Direction would be to remove the deemed consent granted by Regulation 6 of the 2007 Regulations relating to advertisements described in Class 16 of Part 1 of Schedule 3 to the 2007 Regulations. This means that no advertisements could be displayed on telephone kiosks in Swindon Town Centre without the Council's express consent.

The Streets that are proposed to be subject to the Direction comprise Aylesbury Street, Beales Close, Beckingham Street, Bridge Street, Brunel Centre, Byron Street, Canal Walk, Carfax Street, Catherine Street, Clarence Street, College Court, College Street, Commercial Road, Corporation Street, Crombey Street, Cross Street, Davis Place, Edgeware Road, Edmund Street, Euclid Street, Faringdon Street, Farnsby Road, Fleet Street, Fleming Way, Gloucester Street, Gordon Road, Granville Street, Harding Street, Havelock Square, Havelock Street, Haydon Street, Henry Street, Holbrook Way, Islington Street, John Street, King Street, Manchester Road (Part of), Market Street, Merton Street, Milford Street, Milton Road, Morley Street, Newbridge Square, Princes Street, Queen Street, Regent Circus, Regent Close, Regent Street, Sandford Street, Station Road, Temple Street, The Parade, Theatre Square, Turl Street, Victoria Road, Villet Street, and Wellington Street.
