TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (GENERAL PERMITTED DEVELOPMENT) ORDER 2015
NOTICE CONFIRMING THE MAKING OF AN ARTICLE 4 DIRECTION

Swindon Borough Council has confirmed the making of an Article 4 Direction under Article 4 of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 2015.

The area affected by the Direction is the whole of the Bishopstone Conservation Area which is identified on the plan attached to the Direction.

The development controlled by the Article 4 Direction comprises the installation, alteration or replacement of solar PV or solar thermal equipment on (a) a dwellinghouse; or (b) a building situated within the curtilage of a dwellinghouse, being development comprised within Class A of Part 14 of Schedule 2 to the said Order and not being development comprised within any other Class.

The effect of the Direction is to remove permitted development rights for this type of development. Planning permission will therefore be required for this type of development from the date the Article 4 Direction came into force. The Council confirmed the Direction on 19th August 2015 and it will come into force on 20th March 2015.
