EXPERIMENTAL ORDER 2015 and SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL (MERLIN WAY) (WEIGHT RESTRICTION)
EXPERIMENTAL ORDER 2015

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 30 September 2015 Swindon Borough Council made the above Experimental Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to be operative from the 7 October 2015 for the duration of 18 months.

Kingfisher Drive Experimental Order

The effect of the Order is to introduce a '7.5 tonnes' heavy goods vehicles (HGV) weight restriction on Kingfisher Drive immediately north east of St Pauls Drive for approx. 160 metres east of the junction with Dorcan Way to its junction with Merlin Way.

Merlin Way Experimental Order

The effect of the Order is to introduce a '7 .5 tonnes' heavy good vehicles (HGV) weight restriction during the hours of *Monday to Friday from 6pm to 7.30am inclusive, Saturday from Midnight to 8am and 2pm to Midnight inclusive and All day Sunday on Merlin Way from the southern side of the junction with Covingham Drive to the north side of the junction of Kingfisher Drive.

Standard exemptions to weight restrictions apply and HGV's requiring access to properties within the restricted sections are applicable for both Orders.

A copy of both Orders, plans and statement of reasons may be inspected at the One Stop Shop, Wat Tyler House, Euclid Street, Swindon during normal office hours or online at www.swindon.gov.uk/highwayregulation.

The Experimental Order has been made to allow for an assessment of the changes before a decision is taken to make them permanent.

Any person wishing to make to object the Orders before they are made permanent must do so in writing quoting the reference (ZA/TRO/Kingfisher Dr or ZA/TRO/Merlin Way) specifying the grounds on which they are made within 6 months of the Experimental Orders coming into force or if the Orders are subsequently varied or modified within 6 months of the variation or modification coming into force.

If you wish to question the validity of the Orders, or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirements of that Act or of any instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within 6 weeks from 30 September 2015 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
