NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF AN ORDER HIGHWAYS ACT 1980
SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL
FOOTPATHS 64 & 66 SWINDON ORDER 2016


On 27 April 2016 Swindon Borough Council confirmed the above order made under Section 118 of the Highways Act 1980.

The effect of the order as confirmed is to extinguish the public footpath in the unparished area of Swindon, running from OS grid reference SU14150 84052 on the former canal towpath 70 metres NNE of Kingshill Road, to OS grid reference SU14165 84079 opposite The Moorings, and from OS grid reference SU14179 84102 opposite 1-7 Canal Side, to OS grid reference SU14251 84220, 60 metres SSW of Marlborough Street/Joseph Street; and the public footpath running from OS grid reference SU14352 84313 on the former canal towpath 70 metres NE of Marlborough Street/Joseph Street, to OS grid reference SU14416 84344, and from OS grid reference SU14421 84348 to OS grid reference SU14489 84378 against the bridge abutment 2.5 metres below the level of Cambria Bridge Road; and the public footpath running from OS grid reference SU14769 84578 on the SW side of Farnsby Street, to OS grid reference SU14783 84590 on the NE side of Farnsby Street.

Copies of the order and the order maps have been placed and may be seen free of charge at The One Stop Shop, Beckhampton Street, Swindon, from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. Copies of the order and maps may be bought there at the price of £15.00.

The order comes into force on 10 June 2016, but if a person aggrieved by the order wishes to question its validity, or that of any provision contained within it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, that person may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 42 days of the date of this notice make an application to the High Court.
