Swindon Borough Council - Publication of Scheme of Councillors' Allowances for 2016/17

SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL

The Local Authorities (Members Allowances) (England) Regulations 2003 Publication of Scheme of Councillors' Allowances for 2016/17

The Council has published a Scheme of Councillors' Allowances for 2016/17.

The Council agreed on 23 July 2015, after considering the recommendations of its Independent Remuneration Panel, that the level of Councillors' Basic and Special Responsibility Allowances for 2016/2017 would be indexed linked to the percentage increase in pay awarded to local authority staff nationally in the 2016/2017 Pay Round. This equated to an overall increase of 1% and the Councillors Basic Allowance increased to £7,959. Details of the Special Responsibility and other Allowances payable are set out in the Scheme of Councillors' Allowances.
