3. SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL (UNCLASSIFIED 3088 (ALSO KNOWN AS BARBURY CASTLE ROAD AND COMET WAY (UNCLASSIFIED), WROUGHTON) (RESTRICTED ROAD) ORDER 2011
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 22 June 2011 Swindon Borough Council made the above Orders under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to provide:
1. A 20 MPH SPEED LIMIT ON THE FOLLOWING ROADS FOR THEIR FULL LENGTHS: Whittingham Drive, Canberra Road, Nocton Road, Halton Crescent, Parsloes Close Normandy Road, Faulklands Road, Rectory Close, Headley Close and Cosford Close.
2. A 30 MPH SPEED LIMIT ON THE FOLLOWING ROAD: Unclassified 3088 (also known as Barbury Castle Road) - from a point of 20 metres south of the extended kerb line of Beranburh field for a distance of 159 metres in a northerly direction.
3. INTRODUCTION OF A RESTRICTED ROAD WITH A SPEED LIMIT OF 30 MPH ON THE FOLLOWING ROADS:
Unclassified 3088 (also known as Barbury Castle Road) - From a point 636 metres south of the southern kerbline of the junction with Hodson Road (B4005) for a distance of 549 metres.
Comet Way (unclassified) - from a point of 20 metres west of the extended kerb line of Whittingham Drive for a distance of 288metres in an easterly direction.
The Orders will be operative as of 27 June 2011 and a copy of the sealed Orders and plan may be inspected at the One Stop Shop, Wat Tyler House, Euclid Street, Swindon during opening hours or online on
If you wish to question the validity of the Orders, or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirements of that Act or of any instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Orders, you may, within 6 weeks from 22 June 2011 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
