SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL HOUSING LAND

AVAILABILITY ASSESSMENT 2011

Swindon Borough Council is updating the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA) that was published in January 2009.

This is a comprehensive assessment of the potential of land for housing development and will form part of a comprehensive evidence base for development plan documents (DPDs), including the Core Strategy and the Site Allocations DPD. The SHLAA itself does not represent policy and will not determine whether a site should be allocated or granted permission for development.

The ‘call for sites’ pro forma is downloadable on the Council’s website at: www.swindon.gov.uk/shlaa or can be obtained free of charge from Swindon Borough Council on (01793) 46641 or 466513, or by e-mailing us at forwardplanning@swindon.gov.uk

The SHLAA methodology and pro forma will also be available for public inspection at Swindon Borough Council Customer Services at Wat Tyler House, Beckhampton Street, Swindon (Monday to Friday 8.30 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.), and may also be viewed at all libraries within Swindon Borough, during the normal opening hours of those libraries.

For sites to be considered they must each be put forward on a separate SHLAA site pro forma.

Please return completed ‘call for sites’ pro formas no later than 6.00pm on 23rd September 2011, to Planning Service, Freepost SCE5251, Swindon Borough Council, 4th Floor Wat Tyler West, Beckhampton Street, Swindon, SN1 2JH. Submissions may also be faxed to 01793 466459, or e-mailed to forwardplanning@swindon.gov.uk no later than the above time and date.

Please bear in mind that information on submitted sites will be publically available and cannot be treated confidentially.
