Public Path Diversion Order - Footpath 630 Swindon
NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF AN ORDERHIGHWAYS ACT 1980 SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL
On the 10 August 2011 Swindon Borough Council confirmed the above order made under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.
The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert a length of footpath in the Westlecott area known as footpath 630 Swindon. That length of footpath running from OS Grid reference SU 1480 8227 at a point approximately 50 metres north west of the end of the old Croft Road on the north side of the M4 motorway, leading in a westerly direction and then in a northerly direction for approximately 344 metres to the junction with footpath 123 Swindon at OS Grid Reference SU 1451 8240. A new line will run from OS Grid Reference SU 1480 8227 leading in a north westerly direction for approximately 122 metres and then turning in a northerly direction for approximately 28 metres and then in a general westerly direction for approximately 190 metres to link with footpath 123 Swindon at OS Grid Reference 1453 8242, as shown on the order map. The proposed path having a width of 2.0 metres.
A copy of the order as confirmed and the order map may be seen free of charge at the One Stop Shop, Wat Tyler House, Beckhampton Street, Swindon from 9.00am to 4.30pm on Mondays to Fridays. Copies of the order and map, costing £15.00, may be purchased there.
The order comes into force on 10 August 2011 but if a person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 16 August 2011 make an application to the High Court.
