Swindon Borough Council - Amended Speed Limit Orders
SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL (THAMESDOWN DRIVE, CRICKLADE ROAD, LADY LANE –B4534) (40 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2011 SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL (TURNPIKE ROAD, KINGSDOWN LANE) (30MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2011 SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL (HIGHWORTH ROAD –B4019, SWINDON) (30MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2011
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 15th August 2011 Swindon Borough Council made the above Orders under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be for the prohibition of driving on the following road: The introduction of 40 mph Speed Limit on the following length of roads:
Thamesdown Drive From the junction of Lady Lane/Cricklade Road to its junction of Purton Road Cricklade Road from its junction with Thamesdown Drive / Lady lane to a point 250m south of its junction with Arkwright Road Lady Lane (B4534) from its junction with Cricklade Road/Thamesdown Drive for a distance of 760m
The introduction of 30 mph Speed Limit on the following lengths of road:
Turnpike Road from a point of 14.9 metres north of the extended kerb line of the northern side of Kingsdown Lane to its south extremity where it becomes the access to Hyde Farm
Kingsdown Lane from its junction with Turnpike Road for a distance of approx 830m (this being the stretch of Kingsdown Lane that is classified as a public highway)
Highworth Road from its junction with Ermin Street/Turnpike Road Roundabout to (B4019) apoint 158m north east of its junction with Sam’s Lane
The following lengths of road revert to restricted road status with a speed of 30mph
Lady Lane Bridge for the full length of the bridge in a north easterly direction including the circulatory roundabout with the junctions of Highworth Road (B4019), Turnpike Road and Ermin Street
Ermin Street (formerly known as Blunsdon Hill A419) from the junction of the roundabout with Highworth Road, Turnpike Road and Lady Lane Bridge to the northern side of the junction of Widhill Lane
The following orders are revoked
The Borough of Swindon (40mph Speed Limit Order) (NO 1) Order 1971 Amendment (No2) Order 2002
The Borough of Swindon (VARIOUS ROADS BLUNSDON ST ANDREW) (RESTRICTED ROADS) Order 2001
The Swindon Borough Council (Highworth Road, Blunsdon St Andrew)(30mph speed limit) Order 2006
The Orders will be operative as of 22nd August 2011 and a copy of the sealed Orders and plans may be inspected at the One Stop Shop, Wat Tyler House, Euclid Street, Swindon and online at www.swindon.gov.uk/highwayregulation
If you wish to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirements of that Act or of any instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within 6 weeks from 17th August 2011 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
